Why are my pipes or toilet sweating?

What is the most common cause of condensation?

It may be getting hot, but your pipes or toilet shouldn't be sweating!

The number one cause of condensation is constantly running water!

Toilets: If your toilet flush valve is leaky the toilet may run. This may just happen intermittently but the frequency of water usage can definitely cause condensation problems.

Hose Bibb: If your hose bibb doesn’t shut off fully water will constantly be running and will likely cause condensation in your home.

Hidden Leaks: If the cold water pipes are wet with condensation even though you think no water has been running there may be a hidden plumbing leak. Take a look where you are seeing the condensation first thing before any fixtures have been used. These leaks may be so well hidden that all you see are stains in your ceilings, walls, or floors.
